FYI
for November 2007
This will
be the last edition of our Client FYI for 2007 and we’d like
to wish all of you, our valuable clients, a Happy Holiday
season! It’s been a busy year with two new releases of
CaseMap®, an upgrade of TimeMap® and the release of the new
CaseMap Report Publisher. We also expanded our Case Analysis
Consulting Group offerings to include more live Webinar
training, including the Paralegal Certification course. View a full listing of available training
courses.
We also
introduced the Case Assessment & Analysis Resource Center
that is chock-full of LexisNexis® product trial downloads,
links to best practices Webinars and new case studies and
white papers from clients just like you. We hope you will
bookmark www.lexisnexis.com/bestpathforward
and visit it often as we regularly update the site.
When we
return in 2008 we will have important information regarding
the release of TextMap® 4. This important new update of our
award-winning transcript summary program has been delayed
until January to enable us to add even more
functionality.
Last but
not least, if you haven’t upgraded to CaseMap 7 or 7.5, this
is your last chance to take advantage of low subscription
pricing. Thousands of CaseMap clients have already locked in
upgrades and support at very special pricing. The special
pricing expires at the end of 2007. You still have the
opportunity to take advantage of significant discounts on the
upgrade package, but only if you act by December 31,
2007.

FYI this past year, please view archived copies of all our

Synchronizing Concordance® and Summation® with
CaseMap®
There is
an important new feature in CaseMap 7 that we haven’t talked
much about, but want to make sure you’re aware of it—the
ability to synchronize document records in Concordance and now
Summation with document records in CaseMap.
This
feature has a number of important aspects:
- You can
send batches of records from Concordance or Summation to
CaseMap at one time. For example, instantly create 5,000
records in CaseMap based on 5,000 key docs in Concordance or
Summation
- The
records created in CaseMap are automatically linked back to
the sending record in Concordance or Summation
- You can
map fields in Concordance/Summation to fields in CaseMap as
part of the transfer. For example, move Bates Number info,
Doc Date, Author, Recipient, Description and other field
values from Concordance/Summation to CaseMap as part of the
bulk send
- Most
importantly, once records are created in CaseMap, you can
later resend information from Concordance/Summation and
changes to fields in Concordance/Summation will be made to
the mapped fields in CaseMap. For example, let’s say you
sent 5000 records from Concordance to CaseMap, but the
paralegal team had yet to enter descriptions for all 5000
documents in Concordance. You could rerun the Send operation
at a later point and any description values that had been
added in Concordance since the original send would be moved
into the linked record in CaseMap.
We believe
this is a powerful new feature for those trial teams using
Concordance or Summation with CaseMap and we would love the
chance to show you the feature in action. Please write us at
casemap.info@lexisnexis.com to set a time for a web-based
demo.
Please watch a 10-minute prerecorded Webinar that
demonstrates the new feature in action instead of having us
give you a demonstration.
This new
feature requires CaseMap 7 or higher (we’re up to CM7.5 at
this time). The Bulk Send/Synchronize feature is built-in to
the latest version of Concordance. And we have just begun
selling a plug-in we’ve developed for both the regular and
Enterprise versions of Summation.
