TextMap® 4 Has New Live Feed Option

That’s right, you spoke and we listened. Our award-winning TextMap deposition and transcript management software can now link to a live feed from your court reporter!

The live feed option is available through CaseViewNet. It’s a free viewer that you can configure to TextMap to get something even better than just the live feed. CaseViewNet provides RapidRefresh, which is higher quality than a standard live feed. It also allows you to join late and still get the full text. CaseViewNet provides interactive real-time access to testimony through a court reporter’s private WiFi network. It eliminates cables, splitters, adapters and the time it takes to connect them. Did we mention it’s wireless?

CaseViewNet has a Send to TextMap option on its toolbar. Try it for yourself. You can download CaseViewNet at no charge. Be sure to also download the Quick Reference Guide—the link is below the Free Download button on the right-hand side of the screen.

Gain all this and more:

  • Highest quality transcript possible with RapidRefresh
  • The ability for court reporters to make edits during the day and have changes reflected in a clean copy on attorney computers at the end of the day (all attached computers get a refreshed copy of the transcript)
  • CaseViewNet—the first and only software that provides text from court reporters on the fly!
  • Easy wireless setup
  • Flexibility to join an event in seconds—even late
  • Universal compatibility—“Save As” in multiple formats
  • Secure and encrypted transcripts
  • Free viewer—no tokens and no subscription to CaseViewNet

If you have questions, call us at 904-273-5000 or go to www.stenograph.com. To see the integration in action, view our newest Webinar.

Also remember our weekly, no-charge TextMap Fundamentals Webinar, which uses TextMap 4. The 45-minute session starts at 3:30 pm Eastern Time every Thursday. Enroll for a session.

Why use TextMap electronic transcript management software? This convenient tool creates a searchable database of electronic transcripts from case depositions, examinations and other proceedings. You can upload transcripts from many different formats and send transcript summary passages directly to CaseMap® case analysis software for inclusion in key case facts.

With Textmap, you can search each transcript’s concordance, print selections and use a built-in PDF writer. Handy search reports are able to show only the sections of transcripts where a particular word or phrase appears. Condensed transcript reports combine four transcript pages on one print or PDF page.

CaseMap® PDF Bates Stamper Automates More of Your Work

Since the CaseMap PDF Bates stamper was released two years ago with CaseMap 6, thousands of users have been able to streamline the process of entering documents into CaseMap.

The CaseMap PDF Bates stamper, an Adobe Acrobat® plug-in, makes it easy to add Bates stamps to single PDFs or batches of PDFs. The tool also gives you an important and unique advantage: CaseMap can detect the Bates numbers in the Acrobat Plug-in and use them to automatically populate the Bates-Begin and Bates-End fields in your CaseMap Document Index spreadsheet.

In addition, you now have a variety of ways to enter, review and manage your Bates-stamped document entries on the Objects-Documents spreadsheet.

CaseMap Plug-in PLUS for Acrobat

With the optional CaseMap Plug-in PLUS for Acrobat (CPPA), you can Bates stamp individual PDFs or large groups of PDFs. After you format and store your styles, the tool opens a PDF and individually stamps each page of the document. Launch the CPPA from Adobe Acrobat to create a document index in CaseMap. (You must have Acrobat Standard or Professional Version 6 or greater installed on your computer to use the CaseMap Plug-in PLUS for Acrobat. It does not work with the free Acrobat Reader.)

Bates End & Pages Field Synchronization Options

Bates End and Pages field synchronization is enabled by default. If you change the value of either the Bates End or the Pages field on the Objects-Documents spreadsheet, the other field is synchronized and adjusts its value accordingly.

Bates Number Analyzer

The Bates number analyzer works on the Objects-Documents spreadsheet. When you go to Tools/Case Tools and click Bates Number Analyzer, the tool reviews the numbers in the Bates Begin and Bates End fields and performs several analyses to find inconsistencies, duplications and anomalies. From the results dialog box, you get a summary of the analyses as well as tabs to view more detail. There's also an option to generate a report of the results.

Bates Find & Filter

Find a Bates-numbered document anywhere in your Objects-Documents spreadsheet by going to the Edit menu and using Edit/Find or by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F. Plug in the Bates number of the page you're looking for in either the Bates Begin or Bates End field in the dialog box. Press Enter and voila! CaseMap finds the document containing the page you are looking for if it exists in your spreadsheet.

CaseMap 7 makes it easy to filter your Documents spreadsheet for a range of Bates numbers. Just right-click any Bates Begin or Bates End number and select the Filter for Bates Range option. If you know you want a set of documents for an exhibits list, use this new feature to view only the specific Bates ranges that interest you. CaseMap power users can save filtered Bates ranges using the Advanced Search pane.

30-Second Skill Tuning: CaseMap® Filter by Selection

Sometimes you want to display only specific information on your spreadsheet. With the CaseMap filter option, you can search for and populate specific information with a click of the mouse.

For example, say you want to create a report listing only Undisputed Facts.

  • Go to the Status Column on the Facts spreadsheet
  • Right-click the selection Undisputed on any record, and a context menu will appear.
  • Choose Filter by Selection from that menu, and your spreadsheet will quickly filter down to only Undisputed Facts.

It’s that easy. You can filter for anything you need.

Once you have that feature down, you can start to incorporate multi-level filters into your spreadsheets. Just click Records on the standard menu bar and choose Advanced Search. You’ll be on your way to easily customizing your spreadsheets.

You can learn more about filtering by going to the Webinar center. Tutorials are free and take only a few minutes to master. Go directly to our filtering Webinars
