LexisNexis® CaseMap® is One Year Old in May!

It was a year ago in May that CaseSoft® became an integral part of LexisNexis Litigation Services. We’re very happy to report that it’s been a smooth transition and that our development staff has tripled, our Jacksonville operation has expanded and that essentially every CaseSoft staff member remains.

We’ve reported to you over the last year the new CaseMap® integrations with LexisNexis® Total Litigator products and services and hope you’re taking the opportunity to check them out. Many of you were already using the “Send-To-CaseMap” feature in LexisNexis® Concordance™ (also acquired by LexisNexis in 2006) and LexisNexis® Applied Discovery®.

Now the possibilities are amazing! Access a world of information with a couple of mouse clicks from CaseMap. Find out more here about using LexisNexis Total Litigator to:

  • Draft, File and Serve Documents
  • Plan & Conduct Discovery
  • Conduct Legal Research
  • Gather Intelligence
  • Set Alerts and Track Dockets

You can use the new LexisNexis Total Litigator tool bar or menu in CaseMap 7 to launch programs like LexisNexis® TimeMap®, LexisNexis® TextMap®, Concordance™, LexisNexis® CourtLink® and File & Serve. New integrations also include Time Matters® and you can even you track down a copy of a citation in LexisNexis Total Litigator, Shepardize® it or get and print a copy of the case with two mouse clicks. And of course, CaseMap has retained Send-To-CaseMap integration with 25+ discovery tools.

We hope you’ll agree that bigger is better and that you’re still receiving the great support and service you came to expect from CaseSoft. Our training staff has expanded into the Case Analysis Consulting Group with new certification trainings and expanded live training opportunities.

Our sincere thanks to you, our clients, who have made CaseMap and all our tools part of your litigation process. The future is bright and the development possibilities seem unlimited. Our business mission remains the same as it ever was: provide our clients with great tools and with the support and service that makes it easy to get the very most out of those tools. We are very proud to be part of LexisNexis, a company that shares our mission and promotes it company wide.

No-Charge Phone Trainings

Have you or your staff taken advantage of our No-Charge CaseMap Fundamentals Phone Training? This 60-minute course is typically conducted one-on-one and hands-on. You work with CaseMap on your computer as instructed by a Case Analysis Consulting Group trainer on speakerphone.

It definitely costs us more to train users individually. But this format permits trainees to ask their specific questions and allows the session to move at the right pace for the individual being trained. While the training is free, we do ask you to originate the call. Contact us at caseanalysisgroup@lexisnexis.com or call 904.273.5000 to schedule CaseMap Fundamentals phone training.

LexisNexis® CaseMap® Patent Case Reports

Supplement your early case assessment efforts with empirical trending and resolution data from court records in key jurisdictions and practice areas.

LexisNexis Patent Case Assessment Reports are designed to help practitioners gain essential insights into the patent litigation activity of a specific jurisdiction as well as acquire intelligence on the experience level and ruling histories of the active judges.

By relying on empirical data from prior matters, LexisNexis Patent Case Assessment Reports help give practitioners more predictability and structure in the early case assessment and analysis process, so that they can better counsel their clients on how to best proceed with a case, estimate litigation costs, and plan case strategy.

LexisNexis Patent Case Assessment Reports combine court record information available in our robust LexisNexis® CourtLink® database with expert analysis conducted by experienced attorney-editors who evaluate litigation activities daily and whose work is relied upon by over 4.4 million users of the lexis.com® system.

LexisNexis Patent Case Assessment Reports Include

General statistics regarding patent litigation filings in key U.S. District Courts including: Number and percentage of all patent cases per judge, the frequency of filings over time, number of active and closed patent cases in the district, the number of patents at issue and patent class information, and the number of referrals of cases to magistrate judges.

Announcing a New Tool for Collaboration—CaseMap® Report Publisher

The CaseMap Report Publisher is now available for clients with CaseMap 5, 6 or 7. The newest tool from LexisNexis allows for the sharing of information across teams and with clients. The CaseMap Report Publisher can generate, publish and regularly update Web pages containing case analysis reports from CaseMap on a schedule of your choosing. You can view a sample here.

Web pages can be used as is to create a case-specific extranet or intranet site or to dramatically enhance preexisting extranet or intranet sites. The CaseMap Report Publisher is based around setting up report publishing and distributing "jobs."

The CaseMap Report Publisher provides an easy, automated way to:

  • Impress clients
  • Keep the ultimate client informed
  • Keep the entire trial team informed
  • Provide a virtually effortless reporting system for litigation support specialists and paralegals that will impress organization management

If you already have case-specific Web sites, the material the CaseMap Report Publisher generates can be added to them within a matter of minutes.

Each time the CaseMap Report Publisher generates Web site updates, it can also email selected recipients—your clients and trial team—a link to the site and an alert that the case analysis information at the extranet or intranet site has been updated.

The CaseMap Report Publisher is a great way to leverage your organization's investment in CaseMap. It makes entirely new types of case analysis reporting possible. The CaseMap Report Publisher requires CaseMap, but is sold separately from it.

Take a look for yourself, view a brief Webinar here.
