CaseMap7 is Here!

The watchword for the latest version of our case analysis tool CaseMap 7 is integration. “ You may have already used the "Send-to-CaseMap" feature with other tools to add documents and facts to your CaseMap file.  Now LexisNexis® products and services send information to new CaseMap 7.

As always, if you are a current CaseMap client please do not download CaseMap 7 without first consulting your Litigation Support specialist and please make sure you read all the critical warnings.

LexisNexis® Total Litigator—Select any term in your CaseMap case analysis spreadsheets and send it to LexisNexis® Total Litigator for research. For example:

Your client is being sued by Anstar Biotech Industries (ABI).

  • Find out background info on ABI using lexis.com®.
  • See ABI's track record in similar matters.
  • Gather intelligence on opposing counsel's track record in handling cases like yours.
  • If you have a judge and a trial date find out how many cases he or she has handled that are similar and view critical case law.

The possibilities are amazing! Access a world of information with a couple of mouse clicks from CaseMap. Find out more at http://email.lexisnexismail.com/cgi-bin8/DM/y/hheA0IG3q40In20BTJG0En

CaseMap Citations in Total Litigator

  1. Select and right-click a Citation in the Research-Authorities spreadsheet of CaseMap 7.
  2. The shortcut menu lets you track down a copy of the citation in LexisNexis® Total Litigator.
  3. Shepardize® it or get and print a copy of the case with two mouse clicks.

CourtLink®—CourtLink proceedings can now be sent to CaseMap as an object or a fact and then link back to CourtLink.

You’ll also want to check out the CourtLink integration to our TimeMap® timeline graphing tool. TimeMap clients can subscribe to CourtLink and send the dates and text from a selected set of proceedings to a TimeMap timeline, displaying them chronologically as Facts.

The new "Send to TimeMap" button appears in dockets for courts in: U.S. District Civil, Criminal, Bankruptcy, the Circuit Courts of Appeals, and Delaware Chancery.

Note: TimeMap 4.1 is available for download at www.casesoft.com., You must have the latest version to utilize the CourtLink integration.

CaseMap and Total Litigation Navigation Enhancements—The CaseMap 7 Main Sidebar (on the left) has a new LexisNexis bar at the bottom left corner of the screen with convenient links to both Litigation Tasks and Litigation Tools. The same choices are available from the Total Litigator® button on the right end of the standard toolbar. Click the bar or the toolbar button to link to tasks like, Early Case Assessment or Discovery and Research. Or, use the Litigation Tools menu to launch programs like TimeMap, TextMap®, Concordance™, CourtLink and File & Serve.

Enhanced CaseMap Acrobat® Plus Plug-in—We brought you the CaseMap PDF Bates Stamper in CaseMap 6. Now CaseMap 7 gives you enhanced tools to help you find specific Bates-numbered pages, filter to limit your spreadsheet view to a range of documents, analyze your document index to identify potential problems in your Bates Number entries, synchronize Bates End/Pages fields and more.

Acrobat 8 Integration—Enhancements to Adobe® Acrobat® 8 are completely compatible with CaseMap 7. Our new CaseMap Acrobat PLUS Plug-in enables CaseMap 7 to recognize Acrobat 8 Bates Stamps and import them into CaseMap just like our own PDF Bates Stamper.

Bulk Send to CaseMap Feature—CaseMap 7 has new infrastructure that will allow other programs that have the Send to CaseMap feature to enable a Bulk Send to CaseMap wizard. The new Bulk Send to CaseMap wizard will allow you to define which fields and data are sent to CaseMap during the Bulk send

We hope you enjoy using CaseMap 7. We've picked up the pace of development for all our tools thanks to new LexisNexis resources. We welcome your comments and suggestions. Please write info@casesoft.com.  Don’t forget to read the CRITICAL WARNINGS before downloading!

Introducing the LexisNexis® Case Assessment Consulting Group

We’re very pleased to introduce the LexisNexis Case Assessment Consulting Group. Building on the success of our award-winning support and training, we’re expanding to include Early Case Assessment (ECA) consulting.

Early Case Assessment Consulting—Our expert consultants will work with your trial team and Litigation Support specialist to complete a full preparatory Early Case Assessment or Strategic Report Sizing on a new or existing case. We will obtain the complaint, answer and other existing key paperwork. Our experts will study the background material, conduct CourtLink, Total Litigator and lexis.com research and set expectations. Once the preliminary assessment is complete we will work with the trial team to set the agenda and to review the case and research results.

At this point, your consultant acts as moderator guiding the trial team. Your consultant will be a scribe quickly organizing material in CaseMap, and as an educator showing your team how to take the ball forward utilizing the Total Litigator Practice Solutions.  By the time the session ends, we'll have worked with your trial team to create a detailed cast of characters, a multi-level issue outline and an initial fact chronology. The trial team will also have created a Case Summary ReportBook or other work product for their client. And they’ll have a plan in place for additional analysis.

We are also still offering our Case Analysis Jumpstart.  If you need help getting a new case jumpstarted or an existing one organized in CaseMap, we can accommodate your needs in a one-day session that emulates the one-on-one trial team work we do in the Early Case Assessment Consulting.  Our consultant will work with you to customize a day that meets your needs.

For more information and to arrange for an ECA consultation or jumpstart, please contact Linda Walter at linda.walter@lexisnexis.com or call 904.273.5000, ext. 228.
