LexisNexis CaseMap 7.5 is Available
Now!
Many of the new features in CaseMap 7.5
enhance the core CaseMap functionality including the
exceptional reporting capabilities. Others build on core
CaseMap capabilities such as linking and the ability to cull
information from source material in other
applications.
Take a moment to read What’s New in CaseMap 7.5
here.
Please
don't install new versions of CaseMap without assistance from
your IS or Litigation Support staff. We should also note that
CM7.5 results in a database conversion, which means that
everyone working on a file together will need to upgrade to
7.5 at the same time. Please click here to read important information
about upgrading.
The most exciting new feature
in this new version is the addition of new Link Summary (LS)
fields.CaseMap 7.5 has been renovated to substantially enhance
the linking of the data you add to each case file. This change
improves the performance of the CaseMap searches and, far more
importantly, automatically links critical case information in
ways not previously possible.
LS:
Docs Authored and LS: Docs Received on the person's
spreadsheet are critically important examples of the new
linking architecture.
- LS:
Docs Authored automatically displays a count of the number
of times each case player is listed as the author of a
document.
- If you
want to review the documents authored by any player, click
the count that appears in the LS: Docs Authored column next
to his or her name and a pop-up window displaying these
documents appears.
- Click
print and a report generates based on these
documents.
Two more
of the new Link Summary fields—LS: Emails Authored and Emails
Received—display a count of only emails and no other
documents.
The hallmarks of CaseMap linking
capabilities are the unique Link Summary (LS) fields that
count the relationships between different types of case
information and make it easy to display reports based on these
counts. The revamped linking that underpins CaseMap 7.5 allows
us to add over twenty additional Link Summary fields to
each CaseMap file and also paves the way for more LS
fields in future versions.
TAKE A TOUR
The best
way to understand how this enhanced functionality works is to
view a brief What's New Webinar that you can
access here 24/7.
As always, if you are current
CaseMap user please make sure to read the important
installation upgrade instructions first.
We invite you
to set up an online tour of What's New in CaseMap 7.5 by
contacting your account representative at casemap.sales@lexisnexis.com
If
you are still using a version earlier than 7.0, you can click here to review What Was New in CaseMap

New Version
of TextMap by Year-End
Coming
Soon in TextMap 4: Printed/PDF Word Indexes
TextMap 4
is an important new version of our award-winning deposition
and transcript analysis software that should be released
before year-end. TextMap 4 features tight integration with our
flagship CaseMap case analysis tool. However, TextMap 4 can
also be used completely independent of CaseMap by trial team
members focused on searching and summarizing depositions and
trial transcripts.
Many of
the new features in TextMap 4 will relate to enhanced
reporting options. One example is TextMap 4's new Word Index
option.
When
electronic deposition or trial transcripts are imported into
TextMap, each word is indexed so you can quickly find where
any word of interest appears across all transcripts in a case.
In TextMap 4, the Word Index TextMap creates can be printed or
to PDF and used when you're not using TextMap
itself.
The Word
Index can be printed as a stand-alone report or as an appendix
to transcripts themselves. Most other transcript summary
software products only support printing an index for one
transcript at a time. TextMap 4 will permit you to generate
Word Indexes that cover multiple transcripts in a single
index.
Here's a
link to a sample Word Index that's been
associated with a condensed transcript (four transcript pages
to a single printed page). This PDF report was created
directly by a test version of TextMap 4 using the TextMap
built-in ability to create PDFs even if you don't have a full
license for Adobe Acrobat.
We'll have
additional details about the many new features and release
date for TextMap 4 in the September Client FYI. We don't have
a beta version of TextMap 4 available at this time, but will
alert you in the September FYI should one become available.
All current TextMap subscribers will receive TextMap 4 free.
